From personal experiences to listening to disability communities, there are many ways we can keep making our world more inclusive for those with disabilities.
We cannot effectively challenge inequities - or further our social justice mission - unless we are responsive to the needs, concerns, and priorities of one billion people worldwide who live with disabilities. At Get Inspired Disability Community, we believe the preferences and needs of persons with disabilities who require assistance should be the focus of the systems of services and supports that allow them to live the lives they want to live. Disability Resource Centers can serve as gateways to a wide array of services and supports for adults and people with disabilities.
Get Inspired Disability Community is operated by and for individuals with disabilities, offering a wide array of services that promote empowerment and allow individuals to remain in their communities.

Get Inspired Disability Community serve various purposes, usually focused on offering peer support and resources, celebrating disabilities, and raising awareness about disabilities issues and equity.

Where possible we try to include access to the same opportunities and resources that are available to individuals who are not disabled.
Get Inspired Disability Community is also actively involved in the community and local municipality to advocate on local disability issues, such as accessibility on roads and sidewalks, building code enforcement, and government funding of disability services.
The focus of our peer-led programs and services is the removal of economic, social, attitude, and environmental barriers that disabled individuals experience in everyday life.
The Disabilities Act was designed for individuals with disabilities to become functional, real citizens in the country, yet resource access is still denied, and the disability community continues to struggle with basic civil rights. The Government Act requires that society and businesses provide equal opportunities to people with disabilities, including jobs, programs, building access, and services. It has been interpreted as meaning that everybody should do their reasonable best to enable persons with disabilities to participate in their communities and enjoy families and friends, to work, when feasible, to marry, own homes, and to socialize with persons without disabilities.
Here at "Get Inspired Disability Community" we do our utmost to comply with the above paragraph, but it is a continuous struggle.
